This year, the team here at OSC chose to fundraise for Movember which takes place throughout the month of November.
What does Movember do?
In case you aren’t familiar with Movember, the international charity is dedicated to changing the face of men’s health.
Did you know, women live on average five years longer than men? We lose 60 men every hour around the world to suicide, making Movember’s work in suicide prevention, mental health, and prostate and testicular cancer more vital than ever.
By 2030, Movember aims to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25%. They collaborate with experts from around the world on projects that change the way men in need are treated and supported when it comes to some of the biggest male health issues. The funds raised by the charity goes towards projects that address the men’s health crisis on a global scale.
What have Team OSC been up to?
OSC’s team of 15 Mo Bros and Mo Sisters have dedicated their November to growing their moustaches and/or walking 60 kilometres to fundraising for the Movember cause. Together, we have grown seven moustaches, walked 481km, and raised an impressive £1,760!
We are incredibly proud of our team’s dedication to the Movember cause and the phenomenal amount they have raised. They have been motivated to do it for their dads, sons, husbands, brothers, uncles, grandfathers, partners, cousins, and friends in our lives because the money raised could help save a man’s life.
This is the second year running the team at OSC have supported Movember, and we look forward to seeing the team challenge themselves again next year by growing more moustaches, walking further, and raising even more money for such a worthy cause.
