With many of us now living life in the fast lane, trying to balance family life, work, socialising and getting enough sleep, there’s never much time for anything else, let alone to commute somewhere to study. That’s when home learning becomes useful. It allows us to study for a course whilst not having to sacrifice anything else in our lives. After all, spare time is rare and very precious.

Many of us don’t know what home or distance learning actually is or can even begin to understand the fantastic opportunities that home learning courses can open up for us! In fact, many people didn’t know that studying from home was even an option.

What is distance learning?

Okay, let’s clear this up first, distance learning and home learning are basically the same education method. It takes the location out of learning, so instead of commuting to a school, college or learning centre – you can study for your course wherever you want!

This doesn’t necessarily mean you have to study your course from home. In fact, you can study pretty much wherever you like, whether that’s curled up on your sofa, on your commute into work or at your favourite coffee shop, as long as you have your course materials (online or study pack), then you can study for your course.

How does distance learning work?

If you’ve never heard of distance learning before, you’re probably going to want to know how it works.

It’s simple.

Once you have enrolled onto your course, you can either study for your course online or from a course pack where available.

You have expert tutor support available to you to help support you through your studies, so you are never alone.

Study your way

You shouldn’t fit your schedule around studying for a course! In fact, you should fit your learning around your schedule. That’s why home learning is the perfect option for those who lead busy lives.

Often, there aren’t any fixed deadlines for assignments, which means you can study for your course at your own pace! Normally, the only deadlines will be your exams if they are on set dates of the year.
