Overview
Ear candling is the practice of placing a lit, cone-shaped candle into the ear. In theory, as the candle burns, the ear candle will create a low-level suction which pulls the warmed earwax into the hollow candle and away from the ear. It can also soften the wax, meaning it will then fall out in the following few days.
This course is ideal for beginners or existing beauty therapists who want to expand on the services they can offer.
During the course, you will explore how to keep your workplace safe and hygienic, making it safe to offer the treatment to your clients safely and effectively. You will also learn how to perform the ear candling procedure, what tools and equipment you’ll need to do so, and any aftercare advice you can offer your clients.
We do not supply a kit with this course; however, you can acquire a set of 10 ear candles can cost around £10.

There are three types of ear candles available, all including a hollow chimney to contain the earwax. The first is the traditional hopi ear candles, which are long cylinders with a filter. Then we have ear cones, which are shorter and wider and stop debris from entering the ear using a valve. Finally, we have the natural/basic ear candles, which come in a variety of different shapes and don’t contain any safety features.

You will cut a hole in a paper plate and stick the candle into it, this ensures candle wax and ash doesn’t fall on your clients’ face.
Then you will have your client lie on their side before you place the candle in their ear canal, letting the candle burning for around 15 minutes.
