The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) are a leading organisation whose qualifications cover the health, safety, and environmental sectors. Their qualifications are recognised internationally, helping professionals to demonstrate their knowledge and capabilities, as well as raising the standards in the health and safety industry.

There are no entry requirements for this qualification. However, you will need a good grasp of English to ensure they understand the terminology covered within the course materials.
You will have up to one year to complete your course, which is plenty of time to ensure you are able to study for your course at your own pace. The approximate study time is 116 hours, but you can take as much or as little time as you need.
You will study for your course entirely online and receive full tutor support through email. The online portal makes learning more interactive with presentations, audio recordings and interactive modules.
Once you have successfully completed the assessments involved in this course, you will receive your NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK) qualification.
This NEBOSH qualification is delivered in association with SHEilds, NEBOSH centre 548.

Exam - NC1
This exam is open book and based on a realistic scenario that will test you on what you know and what you can do. Within the assessment, you will be asked to carry out a series of tasks using evidence from the scenario and the underpinning knowledge you have gained during your studies. From the time you start your assessment, you will have 48 hours to download, complete, and submit your assessment for marking.
Exam dates for your open book assessment are in January, April, July, and October.
If you choose to add your exams to your enrolment with Open Study College, we will book and pay for your assessments for you. If you do not add the exams option to your enrolment, you will be responsible for booking and paying for your assessments if you wish to achieve the qualification.
Workplace assessment
You will have to complete a workplace assessment. This will be a safety management inspection of a construction workplace. This can be carried out within your place of work.
No external assessor is needed. The course content will give you what is needed for this assessment. Details of this will be released 3 weeks before your submission date.
Please note, if you cannot use your current workplace for your practical assessment for whatever reason, you can choose an alternative place of work such as a family member or friend’s workplace.
